How much roof space do I need?
Answer: We aim for roughly 2,000 m² of available roof to make you truly independent. Based on your location and consumption we make an exact, tailored estimate.
Why should I work with Kioz?
Answer: Kioz takes care of everything: from building the power plant on your site to the smart use of hydrogen in your business processes. Thanks to our specialisation in hydrogen, we have the expertise in-house to guide you to 100% energy independence, without the hassle.
Why shouldn’t I just invest myself?
Answer: Investing yourself takes a lot of capital (which limits your borrowing capacity) and brings hidden costs, such as an energy management contract, feed-in costs, a maintenance contract and the expensive replacement of batteries and inverters over a period of 25 years. We offer you a low, fixed energy price without those risks. Does it turn out after a while that owning it yourself is cheaper after all? Then you can always simply invoke our exit clause.
Why do you install a much larger system than what I would buy myself?
Answer: With an investment of their own, people often choose a system that is too small and overlook the potential to become independent in the long term, for all your energy: electricity, gas and fuels. We deliberately install a much larger system. That way you are already as independent of the grid as possible today, even in winter, and you are fully ready for extra energy consumption or growth of your business in the future. Later you can move on to hydrogen production to get even further away from fossil fuels.
May I use all the energy generated on my site?
Answer: Absolutely, you always get priority. You have first right to all the green power generated. Do you use less at the start than the installation generates? Then we automatically arrange another buyer. So you never risk extra costs for feeding power back to the grid. In short: you use what you need, we take care of the rest.
Why is NOW the time to get in when it comes to the grid connection?
Answer: Spots on the electricity grid are scarce and fill up quickly. Now is the moment to apply for a large substation, which is your energy insurance for the future. However, the grid operator only gives a positive grid study (permission) for such a large substation if you actually install a very large system. We provide the required scale, so that your connection is secured.
How does the investment work?
Answer: Goal: full energy independence. We do that in steps. You can finance the first step (solar panels and batteries) yourself or together with our financing partner. In the latter case you take no risk, and you do not have to put your own capital into a large installation. You keep your working capital to invest yourself in growing your business and making your own machines or vehicle fleet more sustainable, at your own pace.
With Kioz you simply pay for the kWh you use, at a fixed low price.
